Big Brother's Emma Willis rules out a return to reality series as rumours grow over new host's identity

Presenter Emma Willis has silenced rumours that she'll be returning to Big Brother for its ITV2 revival. The mum of three, 46, ruled herself out of a comeback in an interview with Radio Times. Emma's comments came after we previously reported that This Morning's Alison Hammond was a frontrunner to host the revival. You can read more about that here.

When asked whether she would consider going back, Emma told RadioTimes.com: "No. I think with every new era of Big Brother, I think there should be a new host.

"You know, I loved my time on the show, and I very much kind of said goodbye to it back then because we thought it was over. I don't tend to go back. I like to move forward," she added as she discussed the show's future.

Emma continued: "I think it's right. It's starting again, it's got a new home – it should have a new host."

Big Brother is returning to TV screens next year (ITV)

The presenter, who is married to Busted's Matt Willis, first joined the Big Brother team in 2007 when she started guest presenting Big Brother's Big Mouth, before presenting Big Brother's Bit on the Side alongside Rylan Clark. She hosted the main show between 2013 and 2018.

Big Brother first premiered in the UK on July 18, 2000 on Channel 4, and featured a 24-hour live feed that allowed fans to tune into the house at any given time. It ran on Channel 4 from 2000 to 2010 before moving to Channel 5 from 2011 to 2018. In its past, it has been presented by Emma, Brian Dowling and Davina McCall.

Whilst an official date hasn't been confirmed for the series' return, ITV has announced the reality television series will make its return in 2023. It will launch on channels ITV2 and ITVX.
