Big Brother runner-up spills bombshell secrets ahead of show returning to ITV

Big Brother runner-up Deborah Agboola has made some bombshell claims, ahead of the TV series returning to ITV screens next year.

The reality TV star, who entered Big Brother 18 with her sister Hannah, claims her fellow housemates dodged showers for days - with producers not nudging contestants to take a bath.

During the most recent Talks With Ash Twitter Space, speaking to host Ashleigh Louise, Deborah revealed all about the cleanliness of the Big Brother House, claiming some housemates didn’t bath or shower for days.

“The hygiene, do people shower?,” she joked with Ash. “When someone was using shampoo to shower, I knew the world was coming to an end.

“Some people would say ‘oh I showered three days ago, doesn’t matter’ I looked and I said ‘wow'.”

Stunned show host Ashleigh couldn’t believe what she was hearing, prodding Deborah for more answers saying: “Do the producers not step in?”

YouTuber Deborah replied: “It is not their business, if you don’t bath then you don’t bath.”

Digging for more answers, Ash, who plans to host her TalksWithAsh Twitter show every night during the new ITV series of Big Brother, said: “Does that not affect the cleanliness and the sanitation of the house?”

“You know what, nah,” laughed Deborah before revealing something truly disgusting from her season of the hit-reality TV show.

“People did not shower, there was one person whose pants were hanging on the back of the door until we had to say can you collect your knickers.

“What we do at home is not what goes on in that house.”

She explained that when she attended university, she didn’t live in halls so had never experienced living with so many different people.

"While they were cooking, they would be picking the food with their fingers to taste it,” she added. “So we had to make our own food because I can’t come and die because of a house.

“They would be washing dishes with their hands when there was a sponge there.

“Some people are just raised like that. Me and my sister would say in the house ‘do you not wash?’ and they would say stuff like ‘yeah I washed two days ago’.”

Deborah also revealed all about the bedtimes for housemates in Big Brother – claiming the show banned daytime naps.

Deborah and Hannah were very popular in Big Brother 18 (Channel 5)

“You cannot stay up as long as you want,” she said. “When producers feel like they’ve filmed enough you will get a signal like ‘everybody it’s bedtime’.

“You kind of get the signal like ‘right we’ve filmed enough, we’ve got the content that we need’ and that’s it.

“The producers would wake you up, they would say like ‘this is Big Brother, Deborah wake up’ and it’s not even like you’re sleeping, even if they just heard one snore.”

She went on to say Tom Barber from her season would often try to sleep using his sunglasses before he would be told to take them off.

"You’re not allowed to sleep during the day, that is the number one rule,” she said. “Because you are filming, if you’re sleeping there’s no content.”

Speaking about some claims that Big Brother is scripted, Deborah told Ash: “It is one of those shows that isn’t scripted, whatever you do on the show is what they will portray of you, you are your story.

“I came in there as what I was, obviously I had my times that were a bit mad, I’m not going to pretend and say that I was the best person on there.

“When they’re filming they are filming the day and they will take the snippets of what you’ve done that day, so if you go one b****ing about everyone, they’re going to film that and that’s what you’re going to be known as.”

The world-famous reality TV show, which first launched in the Netherlands in 1999, will “maintain its familiar format” when it returns next year.

Big Brother is returning to screens next year on ITV (ITV)

It comes back on air in the UK following an almost five-year hiatus after the last two seasons finished on Channel 5 in 2018.

The reboot will start with a civilian series with cast members from “all walks of life” entering the iconic Big Brother House.

It will reportedly take place at a new filming location after the old Big Brother House was knocked down at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire.

Now it’s thought that the ITV reboot will ‘launch in May next year’ from Bovingdon Airfield, home to Dancing on Ice, The Masked Singer and several BBC shows.
