Davina McCall

"Big Brother house, this is Davina," is a catchphrase forever associated with Davina McCall, thanks to the legendary presenter hosting the original version of the show on Channel 4.

The menopause awareness campaigner acted as the face of Big Brother for ten years, until its move to Channel 5 in 2011, and is still synonymous with the series to this day.

Speaking in June, Davina seemed to rule herself of returning to the series that made her a household name - instead recommending other presenters to host the show should it return.

"Obviously Emma [Willis] and Rylan [Clark], they love that show," the mum-of-three suggested when asked who should present a Big Brother reboot.

"Rylan’s obsessive and has been since day one and Emma became the queen of Big Brother on Channel 5 so either of those – but it would be nice to see old housemates back."

Alison Hammond

This Morning presenter Alison Hammond is being backed by her ITV colleagues to return to the show that made her a household name as a presenter.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain this morning, Kate Garraway and showbiz reporter Richard Arnold discussed potential hosts for the rebooted series - throwing former contestant Alison's name into the ring.

"We were talking upstairs about our very own daytime queen Alison Hammond, of course," Richard suggested as a host, with Kate enthusiastically replying: "Oh, she’d be great."

Kate later went on to make her Big Brother presenter wishes clear, adding: "Rylan Clark or Alison would be great."

Thanks to her iconic stint on Celebrity Big Brother in 2016, plenty of fans want to see Queen of the Memays Gemma Collins hosting the rebooted reality TV show.

"Now that we know Big Brother is coming back, it would be criminal if Gemma Collins or Ekin-Su didn’t host it #loveisland #BB24," one fan mused online as the news of Big Brother's return broke last night.

Another suggested the former TOWIE as a contestant, writing: "Big brother is back, please please can we see Kim woodburn and Gemma Collins in there."

Following his stint on X Factor in 2013, Rylan was quickly whisked off into the Celebrity Big Brother house - going on to be crowned winner of the 2013 edition of the star-studded version of the ultimate reality TV series.

His victory on Celebrity Big Brother 11 saw him quickly land a gig hosting Big Brother's Bit on the Side - something he credits with helping him achieve his current career.

When Big Brother packed up its bags and moved to Channel 5, Emma Willis was one of the new presenters to step into Davina's shoes and take on the role of host.

She became a big hit with fans and many would like to see the mum-of-three return to presenter the new series on ITV next year.

Speaking on This Morning in May, Emma claimed she had no knowledge of the reboot and didn't particular welcome its potential return.

"Genuinely, I know absolutely nothing," she told duo Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond at the time.

"I miss it so much but I do think it needs longer [off air]. It needs a bit more of a rest, I think."
