Big Brother return on the cards as hosts beg for revival

Former Big Brother hosts Rylan Clark and Emma Willis have begged for the show to return amid speculation the series is set for a come back.

A cultural phenomenon and a television heavyweight, Big Brother dominated late-night tv for over a decade. Starting in the year 2000, the show ran for almost two decades with multiple hosts, spin-offs and even channel changes.

Big Brother has also produced some of the most quotable and iconic lines to ever come from reality television. Tiffany Pollard's "David's dead" moment - the US reality TV star believed David Gest was dead - has gone down as one of the show's best moments.

A spiritual successor to the show, The Circle followed somewhat of a similar format as a handful of strangers had to 'live' with each other over the course of several weeks. After the success of the new channel 4 show, fans were left pinning for the original to make a comeback.

Host Emma Willis has been at the forefront of a revival, saying fans are dying for the show to come back. She said: "Everybody wants it back! I think it will come back when it's ready, maybe it's not ready yet. If you're gonna do it again, you've got to do it fantastically well. Hopefully, there's somebody beavering away somewhere that is coming up with an amazing plan for it, but I don't know anything about it if they are!"

ITV presenter Rylan Clark has also stated multiple times he is "dying" for the show to return. He has also tweeted on several occasions "Bring back Big Brother".

Both Channel 4 and Five, who were broadcasters of the reality competition, have never publicly commented on whether or not the show will make a return. Multiple television fan accounts and have teased the show will return but there is yet to be official word on the fate of a possible future for the show.
