Rylan Clark has revealed that he hasn't been asked to host Big Brother for its revival on ITV2 next year... at least not yet, with his recent admission disappointing fans of the show.
It comes after it was announced last night that the beloved reality TV show will be rebooted by ITV - following a five year hiatus after it ended on Channel 5 back in 2018.
The news has prompted speculation over who will front the new series, with original host Davina McCall and former housemate Alison Hammond among the rumours.
Some fans are hoping that Rylan - who won Celebrity Big Brother in 2013 and went on to present spin-off show Bit on the Side until 2018 - will be given the opportunity to host.
Although he said earlier this year that he would "one million percent" be up for hosting a reboot of Big Brother, he's revealed that he hasn't been approached by ITV (yet).
Amid the news of the show's return, he said on Twitter this morning: "Should clarify. I've not been asked to host the show. As a fan, like always, I'm made up it's coming back."
He added: "I know how hard you/we all fought to keep that name alive and I'm so glad it paid off in the end. The OG reality is back. It's the news we wanted. Welcome back bro."
His admission however sparked disappointment and frustration among some fans of the show, who are keen to see the X Factor alum front the series when its airs on ITV2.
One person responded: "You've not been asked to host? I'm fuming." Their tweet has a number of likes, suggesting that others feel similarly following Rylan's recent comment.
Another person said: "You NOT hosting it will be a missed opportunity by @itv2." Whilst a third commented in their response: "But Rylan, there is no Big Brother without you."

"Nooooo," said one person alongside crying emojis, with them adding in a tweet earlier this morning: "You're the only one to present this now!!! I'm setting up a petition."
Another commented: "I hope you do get asked!" Whilst one fan tweeted in response to Rylan: "Bittersweet, stoked it's coming back. Gutted you [might not be hosting it]."
Big Brother had initially aired on Channel 4 from 2000 to 2010. It subsequently moved to Channel 5 in 2011 and remained with that network until the show ended in 2018.
ITV has said the reboot will see housemates "from all walks of life" live together for up to six weeks, with the public watching the house and voting throughout the series.
The Mirror approached ITV for comment.
