Biden Campaign Hires Drag Queen As Deputy Press Secretary

Joe Biden Kamala Harris Antony Blinken

A Democrat staffer recently announced on social media that he has joined the Biden-Harris campaign as a deputy press secretary. Eric Lipka, who previously worked in Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s office, shared his new role on X post. Lipka, who also performs as a drag queen under the names 'Erotica' and 'Erica Lipka,' has a background in drag shows and events.

Public Facebook posts dating back to 2021 show Lipka's involvement in various drag events, including performances at colleges and LGBTQ-friendly venues. The Biden campaign confirmed Lipka's participation in drag shows and expressed pride in having him on their team.

Lipka's social media accounts, where he promotes drag events, were private or locked down after media inquiries. His Instagram, under the name 'Erotica,' showcases photos from drag events and interactions with notable figures like 'RuPaul's Drag Race' winner Sasha Colby.

Despite recent controversial hires in the Biden White House, including Tyler Cherry and Andy Volosky, the administration defended their decisions to bring them on board. Cherry faced backlash for past tweets, while Volosky's blog post criticizing social media companies banning President Trump raised concerns.

The Biden campaign's hire of Lipka comes amidst ongoing scrutiny of the administration's staffing choices. Lipka's dual roles as a political staffer and drag queen highlight the diversity within the campaign team.
