The historic Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy temple dating back to the 17 th century in Bhadrachalam is all decked up elegantly for the celestial wedding (Tiru Kalyana Mahotsavam) of Lord Rama with his consort Sita on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami on April 10.
The temple is resonating with divine vibes on the eve of Sri Rama Navami festival slated for Sunday.
The fortnight-long annual Brahmotsavam began on a grand scale at the temple on the occasion of Ugadi festival on April 2.
Bhadradri temple, the abode of Lord Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy, witnessed low-key celebrations of the annual religious fete in the past two years owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The celestial wedding was conducted inside the temple complex without the presence of devotees due to the threat of coronavirus for two consecutive years - 2020 and 2021.
With COVID situation remaining fully under control, the temple is likely to witness an influx of tens of thousands of devotees for Sri Rama Navami festival.
As per the age-old temple traditions, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is expected to present pattu vastrams on behalf of the State government to the presiding deity of the temple during the Tiru Kalyana Mahotsavam to be held in Midhila stadium in Bhadrachalam on Sunday.
Sector-wise arrangements have been made for the devotees to witness the celestial wedding in a hassle-free manner.
Ubhayadars and other sector-wise tickets have been made available in online mode and through the ticket booking counters at the temple as per the stipulated time frame, the temple sources said.
Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan will attend the “Maha Pattabhishekam (Coronation) of Lord Rama” at the historic temple in Bhadrachalam on Monday.
The temple authorities have made arrangements for free distribution of around 180 quintals of talambralu after the Tiru Kalyana Mahotsavam among devotees through special counters in the temple town on Sunday.
Devotees from far off places in the State and also from Andhra Pradesh offered “Goti Talambralu” to the temple deity during the preparation of mutyala talambralu to be used during the celestial wedding with unflinching devotion.
