BGT viewers call out 'Lucy Spraggan rip off' as copycat contestant wows judges

Britain's Got Talent viewers have called out a contestant who received four yeses from the judges as a 'Lucy Spraggan rip off' on Saturday evening.

Judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden returned for another instalment of the auditions on the hit ITV talent show.

Early on in the show, pot washer Honey Scott took to the stage to perform her original song for the judges and went on to receive four yeses.

But as she strummed her guitar and even took a dig as Stephen Mulhern in her lyrics, viewers couldn't help but compare Honey to X Factor's Lucy Spraggan.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "I’m sure she’s lovely but I’m getting evil Lucy Spraggan energy," as another wrote: "Is this Lucy Spraggan lol."

A fellow savage fan chimed: "Lucy Spraggan rip off!"

Another described Honey as "Pound shop Lucy Spraggan" while another wrote: "The ghost of Lucy Spraggan hovers over the stage."

However, many viewers admitted the contestant was "bloody good", as she performed an original song about BGT for the judging panel.

Ahead of Saturday's episode, Britain’s Got Talent judges were shown looking shocked in a teaser clip for the show, after a daring acrobatic act took the stage.

An acrobatic troupe called The Freaks performed a routine which included flinging one member of the group into the air - to the judges’ collective amazement.

The act used girls as skipping ropes after catapulting them through the air and across the stage.

Their next trick then saw them make a human ladder to throw one girl to the top of it, but this was a bridge too far for the fearful judges, who were left shaking at the end of the routine.

Alesha Dixon shouted from the judging panel “Oh my goodness me!” while a terrified Amanda Holden replied: “Oh my God!”

The group quickly stepped it up a gear as they used each other to create their high human tower and fling one member to the top.

As they assembled, co-host Ant McPartlin begged: “Oh no no no!” as he looked on from backstage, stood alongside Declan Donnelly.

The Freaks then dropped the girl from a high height before catching her, as Amanda was seen covering her mouth and exclaimed: “Oh!” before the clip ended.

BGT fans also learnt that Britain’s Got Talent host Ant sustained an injury to the head while filming scenes of the talent show.

The TV star was left with his forehead cracked open after headbutting a coconut during filming.

The 46-year-old was bandaged up by a medic while standing beside his giggling pal Declan Donnelly at the show's auditions.

But the small wound wasn't serious and Ant only realised he was bleeding when Dec pointed it out to him.

Britain's Got Talent 2022 continues Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
