Susan Boyle shot to fame in 2009 after her performance of I Dreamed a Dream on Britain's Got Talent turned her into a global superstar.
The 61-year-old songstress - who hails from Blackburn - impressed the judges in an audition that went on to become of the show's most iconic moments to date.
Despite first impressions and appearances, Susan immediately captured the hearts of the audience as she unveiled her incredible voice for the first time on the hit ITV talent show.
Since then, the Scottish star has gone on to achieve an incredibly successful career and a millionaire status - all while keeping her personal life firmly under wraps.
Sadly, Susan has been unlucky in love throughout her life - and revealed she has been on her own for "too long" that she cannot see herself getting married to someone.
She has only ever had one boyfriend who became public knowledge.
The talented musician delved into her first romantic relationship at the age of 53 while she was on tour with an American doctor who she got talking to in her hotel.
Despite the fact that Susan felt a connection, and sparks flew between the pair, it wasn't meant to be as the relationship failed to develop into anything long-term.
Opening up about her secret relationship previously, Susan admitted that she felt it didn't last because marriage was not meant for her.
She told Lady Magazine: "I did have a gentleman friend, a doctor. We went for lunch but I didn't tell anyone.
"But if I had a man friend it would be purely platonic - I've been on my own too long now to get married."
She added: "I don’t want to say any more about who he is right now as that would be unfair on him. All I’ll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy."
Sadly "it just wasn't practical" in the long term.
While she feels marriage may not be on the cards for her, Susan has always wanted to be a mother, and previously opened up about her regrets of not having children of her own.
The star also revealed that she would be very open to fostering children who need a safe and loving home.
Susan told The Sun: "When things quieten down a bit I would like to get into fostering," she told the publication.
"I love kids. I’ve never had any of my own, that’s my biggest regret, but I love kids. They’re good fun to be with."
