Britain's Got Talent singer Nick Edwards clarified the reason he was wearing a microphone while sitting in the audience during Saturday's episode.
Nick's children applied to the competition on his behalf and he was in 'complete shock' when he found out.
Some fans noticed that he was already wearing a microphone on his shirt when it was all supposed to be a surprise.
The singer chatted with This Morning and explained the reason behind it
"When we went out for breakfast, my sister-in-law, who works in marketing, she said: 'Oh I've got these free tickets do you want to come and see it?" he said. 'We will kill some time, big things happening tonight, you're going to love the day. It's brilliant.'
"We sat in the audience, arrived and sat down, a lady came up to us and said: 'You're sitting in the Gogglebox chairs. In-between acts, we scan to the audience, get their reactions and stuff.'"
The show's host, Alison Hammond, then reminded everyone that there was a microphone there.
Nick added: "I didn't think much of it, I thought it would be a bit of fun. Then my mum [who is a dance teacher and examiner] came on stage and my initial reaction was she's going to get the girls to dance."
It was his family who brought in his guitar so he could use it during his surprise audition.
The singer had to clarify why he was wearing a mic after many people took to social media to question why one was attached to his shirt.
BGT also denied claims that it was staged and explained that he was told he would be part of a 'Gogglebox' audience.

A spokesperson told Daily Mail : "We loved welcoming back our BGT viewers back last night after a year away. To report or allude to anything being staged or contrived regarding Nick's audition would be false and incorrect.
"Quite simply, when Nick entered the Palladium auditorium during BGT auditions, he was approached to be part of our ‘Gogglebox’ audience and told he would be mic'd up so we could capture his reactions throughout the day as he sat in the audience.
"He was totally unsuspecting. We did this so we could mic him up without him suspecting a thing."
Nick left the entire audience in tears after singing a cover of Ernie Hatler's Daddy's Little Girl.
