BGT's first live semi-final sees Maxwell Thorpe and Jamie Leahey go through

Britain's Got Talent has now reached the live semi-finals and Monday saw various acts take to the stage once again to try and impress the judges.

Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams were all present at London's Hammersmith Apollo for the live show - but only two acts were allowed to be put through.

Singer Maxwell Thorpe, magician Junwoo and youngster Jamie Leahy found themselves in the top three, and Ant and Dec quickly revealed that Maxwell had received the most votes and would definitely be going through.

As Junwoo and Jamie battled it out, the judges gave their final verdicts.

David decided to give Jamie his vote, while Alesha chose to save Junwoo.

However, Amanda sided with David and said: "I feel like chicken tonight!" and also went for Jamie.

Ant and Dec then turned to head judge Simon and revealed that if he chose Junwoo too, then the result would automatically defer to the public vote result.

Father-of-one Simon chose to do just that and let the numbers do the talking.

Ant and Dec announced that Jamie had actually received more votes than Junwoo, and therefore he would be going through to the next round.

The first semi-final saw singer Mel Day take to the stage first, followed by David's Golden Buzzer choice Born to Perform.

The dance group were followed by comedian and impressionist Suzi Wild, who left the judges as well as hosts Ant and Dec in stitches again.

Amanda ended up fleeing the set during the latest performance from The Witches as the super scary act ended up making her put her hand in a box which contained a rat.

The other act which saw their time in the competition come to an end was the London Community Gospel Choir.

Britain's Got Talent continues at 8pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
