Britain's Got Talent 'leak' as act 'gives away' semi-final spot after divisive audition

Britain's Got Talent viewers believe a result leak has taken place, after an appearance by one act on Good Morning Britain on Monday - with a duo mentioning the semi-finals as if they had been confirmed for the line-up.

Dancing duo Romeo & Icy left the judges divided on Saturday night, as their audition failed to impress half of the panel and they were almost dropped from the show.

But when Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden backed the pair, the audience got behind them - leading to judge Bruno Tonioli giving them another chance, and the all important third 'yes'.

Romeo & Icy were sent through to the next round, which is normally a bootcamp style round before the live semi-finals.

Viewers don't tend to see the acts perform again, but they do see the judges deciding which ones to put through to the live shows.

The episodes then show the acts finding out if they are through or not, before these live semi-finals kick off in the lead-up to the live final in the same week.

But one duo's appearance on GMB on Monday, and their comments about their hopes possibly being dashed by an injury, led to fans being convinced a result had been leaked.

Romeo & Icy spoke to hosts Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins about their audition that divided the judges, as well as the audience.

The boys confirmed one of them, Icy, had suffered an ankle injury and was having to rest up.

Romeo confessed he'd begged his pal and fellow dancer to do everything he could to help it to heal, almost as though they had something lined up they needed to be ready for.

It's then that they possibly gave away they had made the semi-finals, despite the auditions still ongoing and the result not being confirmed onscreen yet.

While it's not known for sure if they have made it through, or if they were referring to another performance entirely, viewers were convinced they'd given a spoiler.

Host Richard hinted at the news, by saying: "The thing is you're due back for the next episode very soon now, you've done your ankle in!"

The live shows tend to air in May, meaning they are just weeks away - while the auditions began filming in January.

Icy then said: "I'm alright now, I can walk and stuff and I can do anything, but dance... Hopefully I get better for the semi-finals."

Charlotte appeared to give the game away too, by saying: "Let's hope the ankle heals up in time," suggesting they had another performance coming up.

Taking to Twitter, viewers were quick to spot the moment with some suggesting the act had given away a spoiler.

One viewer said: "Ooh, @BGT spoiler? The pair of lads dancing who are being interviewed on #gmb said about getting ready for the semi-finals, which would suggest they have been chosen!!" with three others liking the post in agreement.

Britain's Got Talent airs Saturdays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
