Young ventriloquist Jamie Leahey (and partner, Chuck) were jumping for joy as they were sent through to the final of Britain's Got Talent. Jamie, 13, joined singer Maxwell Thorpe as winners of the ITV talent show's first semi-final. Following the victory, someone unexpected has come forward in support of Jamie.
But did you know he has a link to a soap star? Hollyoaks actress Lucy-Jo Hudson has congratulated the BGT teenager on her Instagram - and revealed their connection. In a post that is emblazoned with the words, 'VOTE JAMIE & CHUCK', the actress who plays Donna-Marie Quinn in the Channel 4 soap, wrote: "So proud of you. Well done darling," as she congratulated talented Jamie, who has been performing since he was little.

Writing on Instagram, former Coronation Street star Lucy-Jo confirmed that her real-life partner, actor and impressionist Lewis Devine, "has taught Jamie for four years now". Full of praise for Jamie, she said: "Every year he has just got better and better, he's such a talented young man and a sweetheart too." Should Jamie win the competition, he will get the chance to perform in front of royalty at the Royal Variety Performance. He will also take home £250,000.

The Hollyoaks actress reached out to her fans and asked them to "please all get behind [Jamie], he's such a gorgeous boy, inside and out! He works so hard, and is so dedicated" .Lucy-Jo has appeared in the Channel 4 soap opera since 2018 and as well as appearing on Corrie, she starred in Wild at Heart, opposite BGT's Amanda Holden.
