BGT fans ‘work out’ Golden Buzzer magician Keiichi Iwasaki's Alesha Dixon ring trick method

Britain’s Got Talent fans believe they have worked out how magician Keiichi Iwasaki performed his levitating ring trick on judge Alesha Dixon during Saturday's show.

The Japanese magician left the judges and audience gobsmacked after inviting Alesha onto the stage to assist him in demonstrating the illusion.

Keiichi told the 43-year-old singer to hold a finger in place as he made mysterious allusions to her golden rings.

The magician flicked his hand and suddenly the ring began to spin in quick circles in the air above her outstretched finger.

Simon Cowell and fellow judges Amanda Holden and David Walliams looked on aghast from the panel, as the ring continued to hover mid-air.

The enrapt audience watched as the ring eventually landed on Alesha's finger, as Keiichi exclaimed.

While the audience in the audition hall erupted at the scene, those at home were slightly more sceptical and took to Twitter to share how they had cracked the trick after spotting a “device”.

One viewer wrote: “You can see the device on his right middle finger.”

A second added: “He has something between his index and middle finger in her right hand, that probably does the trick but I don't know what it is.”

A third person had another theory saying: “Here is HOW IT'S DONE. Ring is attached to a thin piece of string that runs up. Hence when he try to pass the ring through his hands the left hand doesn't start on the right he starts more on the left so it doesn't interfere with the piece of wire.”

But the judges were awed and hosts Ant and Dec in particular thought the act worthy of the royal treatment, as they appeared from the wings and sauntered over to the judging panel to whack down the Golden Buzzer.

But while the Golden Buzzer has Keiichi straight through to the show, his appearance could spark yet another fix row for the ITV show, which has been blighted with accusations from viewers that contestants have prior professional experience.

Keiichi is a well-known Japanese street magician and has appeared on numerous talent shows before.

He auditioned for the show in three other countries, including Italy in 2016, Bulgaria in 2021 and Spain in 2019 where he made it to the semi-finals. He also auditioned for Germany's Das Supertalent last year.

Britain’s Got Talent returns Saturday at 8pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
