BGT fans fume as Golden Buzzer comedian Axel already has Amazon Prime show

Britain's Got Talent viewers were not best pleased on Sunday evening after discovering that an act who had received a golden buzzer already had their own stand-up show on Amazon Prime.

Comedian Axel Blake impressed the judges, in particular Simon Cowell, with his witty jokes and charming persona.

Following his performance, Simon pressed his golden buzzer and confetti rained down on stage - leaving the comedian utterly speechless.

However, some unhappy viewers pointed out that Axel was already successful in the industry and even had his own stand-up show on Amazon Prime.

One viewer fumed: "Apparently that comedian has already got a stand up show on Amazon Prime. Yet another wasted golden buzzer. It's an absolute fix. Tom Ball should've got the golden buzzer tonight. #BGT."

While another commented: "so last night there was a golden buzzer for a singer with a net worth of 2 million and a song in one of the biggest movies to ever exist and tonight’s golden buzzer was an award winning comedian who has an amazon prime show???? wtf is happening this series #BGT."

A third fumed: "I refuse to believe that the #BGT Golden Buzzers are real and spontaneous. Yesterday it was to someone who sang an actual song in Greatest Showman and has been in the music charts in the US. Tonight it's a comedian who has a stand up show on Amazon Prime..."

However, others also enjoyed Axel's performance and believed that Simon was right to press his golden buzzer.

One wrote: "I do love a good comedian, Axel was pretty funny to be fair, had me laughing at every one of his jokes #BGT."

Another tweeted: "Amazing!! A first golden buzzer worthy of it. Well done Axel!! #BGT #BritainsGotTalent."

A third wrote: "Axel Blake has been around for at least a decade on the Black British comedy scene but not made it big. Happy he's got the #golden buzzer on #BritainsGotTalent #BGT."

*Britain's Got Talent airs Saturday at 8pm on ITV
