Beyonce slams Right Said Fred in savage reply after band claimed she stole their song

Beyonce has hit back at Right Said Fred in a defiant reply after the band claimed she stole their song.

The duo had accused Bey of not asking permission to sample their hit I'm Too Sexy in her song Alien Superstar from her new album Renaissance.

Brothers Fred and Richard Fairbrass even branded the Crazy In Love singer, 41, "arrogant."

In response to the brothers, who released the song in 1992, Beyonce said claims she didn't ask for permission were 'erroneous and incredibly disparaging'.

"Permission was not only granted for its use, but they publicly spoke of their gratitude for being on the album," the statement read.

The statement added that 'only the composition' was utilised.

According to the music icon, permission was requested on May 11 this year, and their publisher approved of it a month later.

They were paid for it in August.

"Furthermore, the copyright percentage of the Right Said Fred writers with respect to the use of “I’m Too Sexy” is a substantial portion of the composition," the statement continued to The Sun.

"Collectively the Right Said Fred writers own more than any other singular writer and have co-writer credit. This accusation is false."

Beyoncé's track Alien Superstar was released earlier this year and has 9.8million views on YouTube and 71 million streams on Spotify.

Right Said Fred claimed artists such as Drake and Taylor Swift approached them for permission in their songs Way 2 Sexy and Look What You Made Me Do respectively.

"Normally the artist approaches us but Beyoncé didn't because she is such an arrogant person, she just had probably thought 'come and get me' so we heard about it after the fact when you did. But everyone else, Drake and Taylor Swift, they came to us," the band said.

"To use our melody they need our permission so they send us the demo and we approve it and if so we get a co-write credit, with this Beyoncé thing there are 22 writers it's ridiculous so we would get about 40p."

But the pair said they won't launch a legal battle with Beyoncé as she has "has a lot more presence and power and money".
