Beyonce renting Europe’s largest indoor arena to rehearse 'groundbreaking' world tour

Rehearsals for Beyonce’s upcoming world tour are well under way - and the star is pulling out all the stops to ensure her performance will be ‘groundbreaking’.

The Renaissance World Tour will be 41-year-old Bey’s first solo world tour since her 2016 Formation World Tour and is due to kick off next month in Stockholm.

She will take in dates across Europe, the UK, and North America - seeing her performing through to the end of September.

And while tickets have controversially cost thousands for fans to snap up, it seems no expense is being spared in preparation for the live dates.

According to The Sun, Bey is currently hard at work in France perfecting her dance moves and set manoeuvres.

The Halo singer has booked out the La Defense Arena in Paris to use as her practice ground - with the stadium twice the size of London’s O2 arena and capable of seating 40,000 fans.

A source told the publication: “The structure for the stage is gigantic and on a totally different scale from any other tour right now – that’s why she needed a huge venue to rehearse in.

“And she can’t run through the show in any of the stadiums she is performing in because they aren’t soundproofed and people would hear what she was preparing.

“She is on top form and is pulling out all the stops to make this a truly groundbreaking tour.”

Earlier this year, there were calls for a crack down on ticket resale websites after touts snapped up tickets for Beyonce ’s tour and then hiked up the price while re-selling them.

Despite efforts by Ticketmaster to cut down on bots with its Verified Fan system, hundreds of tickets for Beyonce’s Tour ended up on resale sites - with a £107 ticket for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium gigs in London priced at an eyewatering £4,130.

Fans of other big stars have faced similar issues when tickets have sold out only to reappear on other sites at vastly inflated prices.

Hundreds of tickets for Madonna ’s Celebration Tour appeared on resale websites within minutes of them going on sale in January – with a £95 ticket to see her at London’s O2 Arena offered on Viagogo for more than £2,000.

Ticketing security expert Reg Walker said there has been “a massive escalation” of harvesting using aggressive software, adding: “Some bot attacks have become so sophisticated it’s almost impossible to detect them. We are seeing thousands of identities registered with ticket companies to buy tickets.”

He warned: “Touts acquiring tickets with bots are doing so illegally. They are being resold via Viagogo. Viagogo doesn’t ask why a guy in a flat in Wigan has come up with 50 tickets for a show that has just gone on sale.

“Their business model is dependent on touts harvesting tickets and reselling them through their site.”

Mr Walker told the Mirror he believes the UK should follow the lead of Ireland and France, which ban ticket resale above face value.
