Metro bosses have announced their plans for special tickets and extra trains for Beyonce's huge gig in Sunderland next week.
Tens of thousands of fans are expected to descend on the Stadium of Light to see the world famous music icon on her Renaissance tour, which kicked off in Stockholm earlier this month.
The Beyonce tour setlist has caused quite a stir on social media, with the absence of big hits like Single Ladies, Halo and If I Were a Boy becoming a real talking point online, while many other fans look forward to hearing newer tracks like Break My Soul and Alien Superstar for the first time in the flesh.
There are some tickets still left for Beyonce in Sunderland on Ticketmaster, with seats available. If you're tempted to get a last minute ticket or have had one for months, there is some essential information to be aware if you're planning on getting the Metro there and back.
Beyonce in Sunderland: How to get there by Metro
Tickets
There will be a special ticket on sale for the gig, which can be bought in advance from this week. It costs £6.20 and is for all day and all zones. The option will appear on screen selections as Beyonce.
Getting to the concert
Before the concert extra trains will be running to help get everyone to the Stadium of Light.
Trains towards Sunderland will be exceptionally busy after 4.pm. Whatever your destination, anyone wishing to board a Metro train from a Newcastle city centre station may be asked to queue outside between 4-8pm, so staff can manage the large crowds we expect safely.
Those not travelling to the Beyonce gig are asked to try and avoid travelling on Metro trains towards Sunderland between 4 and 8pm.
Concert goers with purple, red or yellow entry tickets should travel to Stadium of Light Metro station.
Concert goers with blue, orange, platinum, green or pink entry tickets are best travelling to St Peter's Metro station.
Getting home after
Crowd control measures will be in place including queues for Metro travel.
Metro trains will be running later to help get concert goers home, including a later train to South Shields from Pelaw.
If you're travelling by Metro, join the queue at St Peter's or at Stadium of Light station immediately after the concert to be sure of getting your train home. Queues at both stations will move at the same speed.
Sunderland station will close to Metro customers from 10am, with Park Lane also closing at the same time.
