Beyoncé's seventh studio album Renaissance has been leaked online hours before its release, online reports have suggested.

The highly anticipated album, which was scheduled to be released at midnight on Thursday, can be found online and CDs are already being sold in Europe, according to Variety.

The LP is the singer’s first release since 2019’s The Lion King: The Gift and her first studio album since 2016’s Lemonade. The performer began teasing Renaissance’s release last month, when she also confirmed that it would be made available to the public on July 29.

Management from Columbia, the 40-year-old’s label, have evidently been trying to contain the damage and tweets with words such as ‘leak’ with the hashtags #Renaissance and #Beyonce have been taken down. Twitter said on Wednesday this was “in response to a report by the copyright owner”.

Despite this, fans took to social media to urge others to be patient.

One tweeted: “Pls don't ruin it for everyone, especially not Bey who has put 2 yrs of hard work into this new era that we BEGGED for.”

Another said: “don't listen to leaks of "renaissance" — beyoncé needs the money because she quit her job!”

Beyoncé has already announced the album will have 16 tracks and be just over an hour long. As well as lead single Break My Soul, it will also contain collaborations with Beam, Grace Jones and Tems.

She has said previously: “Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world.

“It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without (judgement). A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.”
