The family of a "loveable" man have shared his bizarre final wish in a brutally honest obituary about his character.
Stephen Morris, 75, told his bereaved family not to bother with a funeral and have a "p**s up" instead.
Honouring his wishes, the family invited those who knew and loved Stephen to a pub as they posted a brutally honest obituary in the Australian Courier Mail paper.
It revealed that Mr Morris, from Brisbane, had three wives who described him as both "loveable" and "bewildering".
The notice read: "Trying, but loving son to Norm and Gwen. Annoying, yet protective big brother to Phillip and Helen.
"Bewildering, yet loveable husband to Valda, Joann, Rosemary. Questionable, but ever-entertaining parenting methods to Steve and Sherry, Jodie and Terri, Clare and Liam and seven grandkids.
"Storyteller, poet, larger than life, life of the party! Thanks for the memories you crazy b*****d. We love you and miss you."
The tongue-in-cheek tribute which was posted with a picture of Mr Morris supping a drink and signed off with the quote: "I did it my way".
Posted to Reddit, many joked that they too might attend the "p**s up" to say goodbye to Stephen after praising the humour in the obituary.
One person said: "That’s what I want instead of a funeral – everyone have a party! The Janis Joplin approach.
Another added: "If my current plans fall through this weekend, my backup will be Stafford Tavern at 2pm wearing a fun shirt … despite never meeting the bloke.
“I reckon Stephen would approve of us all turning up!”
