The rapper posted two sweet tributes to Beverly, with the first being an image of the pair. He wrote alongside it: "Mama thank u for having me."

Beverly was hospitalised earlier in the year, but the reasons weren't disclosed at the time. Snoop asked for good vibes from his fans at the time and updated them in July to say she was "still fighting" and had opened her eyes.

He wrote in July: "Happy Sunday me and my brothers went to [see] mama today and she opened up her eyes to [see] us and let us know she still fighting.

"God is good ... thanks for all the prayers one day at a time."

He didn't reveal any further details however.

Snoop has often attributed his mother to raising him to have good qualities and confessed that it was Beverly who forced him to apologise to Gayle King after he made controversial comments towards the presenter.

Many stars and famous friends of the rapper took to the comments section on both of the star's posts to send their condolences to the family.

American actor Morris Chestnut wrote: "My condolences to you and your family."

"Stay strong neph. Moms is now watching over you Forshizzle."

He also shared his own post to Beverly on his own Instagram page asking his fans to send love and prayers to the whole family.

Fellow musician Busta Rhymes also shared a string of heart emojis in the comments section.
