‘Better than a new signing’ - Man City fans react to Riyad Mahrez contract announcement

Riyad Mahrez has signed a new contract with Manchester City that will keep him at the club until 2025.

The 31-year-old winger has just enjoyed one of his best seasons in a City shirt and has been rewarded with a new contract. Mahrez scored 24 goals and registered nine assists in 47 games across all competitions last term.

The Algerian was City's top goalscorer last season, with his strikes proving crucial in helping his side reach the Champions League semi-finals.

The three-time Premier League winner had been facing an uncertain future at the Etihad as he entered the final year of his contract, however, any speculation has now been put to bed and City fans took to Twitter to show their pleasure at the news.
