Beth Chapman's last words have been revealed by her devastated husband Dog the Bounty Hunter a day after she died in hospital .

The 51-year old reality star slipped away days after being put in a medically induced coma to cope with the spread of her throat and lung cancer.

But before she died, the devoted mum and grandmother gave her family her poignant last words.

Opening up in his first public appearance since Beth's death, Dog - real name Duane Chapman - told reporters: "One of the last things she said [was] 'It's a test of my faith'. She had faith and that was it.

"There's steps you go through when you're dying. Well, the last step when you're dying is to accept it, and she said to me the other day, 'Honey, that last step, I ain't taking it.' So go Bethy."

Duane, who came to fame in 2004 with his and Beth's reality series Dog The Bounty Hunter, said her very last words were to him and her two daugthers.

"She came out of it a few times - 'I love you,' and 'Are you guys all OK? Don't worry'," he told the media before breaking down in tears.

"She never accepted it. This is totally unbelievable."

Beth - real name Alice Elizabeth - even left some things in place to reassure her family she's still with them in spirit.

"She was a control person - and so not from the grave but from heaven I'm sure, she's still controlling me," Duane continued. "I got notes in my pillowcase, on my sink, in my shaving things, you know - she's still telling me what to wear! I love her so much."

Refering to the Biblical story of Lazarus, Dog said: "Beth isn't dead, she's sleeping."

He added: "It's incredible, when you walk alone into the bedroom and she was just there two days ago. I hope to god there's a god. I have tried to be a godly [man] - I hope I'm not just talking to myself. If there is a god, I'm going to see my honey again. And that's all we can do: hope."

He broke down in tears once again as his relatives surrounded him on the driveway of their Hawaii home.

Beth had been battling cancer for years, having first been diagnosed in 2017.

In December that year she was declared free of the disease, but it returned the following year, and Beth had to undergo aggressive chemotherapy to treat it.

In January 2019, Dog revealed the devastating news that Beth's cancer was 'incurable'.

The TV star spoke of his heartbreak at hearing the news that the cancer had spread to Beth's lungs but said she was determined to 'fight every step of the way'

Dad Dog told InTouch Weekly at the time: "I have to keep faith, I am the leader of the family."

This month Beth was placed in a medical-induced coma in Hawaii with sources claiming she was having trouble breathing.

Her family rushed to be by her side and on Monday, Dog tweeted a snap of Beth's manicured hand from her hospital bed.

On Wednesday he told his Twitter followers that Beth had 'hiked the stairway to heaven' and he'd see her on the other side.
