Make sure to check your settings before dropping into Warzone 2, as some small tweaks can give you a big advantage in-game.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is live and if you haven't already, you should tweak your Xbox Elite Series 2 controller settings right now so that they're optimised for when you first drop into Al Mazrah. Before you drop in, you may want to read up about the best Warzone 2 loadouts to make you've got everything optimised just right.
There are a number of settings you can tweak to increase the performance of the game on your PC or console, including the best Warzone 2 graphics settings. But if you're playing with the Xbox Elite Series 2 on Xbox Series X|S or PC, there are a bunch of settings options you can change to help make you more competitive in Warzone 2.0.
Best Xbox Elite Series 2 settings for Warzone 2
To change your Xbox Elite Series 2 controller settings in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, hop into the game and press the start button. Then, head over to the gear icon and select the controller option in the list that appears. You'll see a controller section and an advanced section.
You can use this guide as a baseline, and edit specific options in order to suit your play style, but these settings work for me. For starters, make sure the aiming input device is set as controller. Then, tweak to your heart's content.
Inputs
- Edit Button Layout: Bumper Ping Tactical
- Flip LB/LT and RB/RT: Off
- Stick Layout Preset: Default
- Controller Vibration: Off
The Bumper Ping Tactical layout works best for me out of all the options, allowing you to ping more quickly, with a good balance of all other controls. Also, controller vibration will only disrupt your aim, so make sure that's off.
Aiming
- Horizontal Stick Sensitivity: High 7
- Vertical Stick Sensitivity: High 7
- ADS Sensitivity Multiplier: 1.00
- Vertical Aim Axis: All Standard
I really like the high sensitivity that comes with High 7, although some players prefer to go higher or lower, depending on their preferences.
Gameplay
- Aim Down Sight Behaviour: Hold
- Change Zoom Shared Input: Sprint/Tactical Sprint/Focus
- Automatic Sprint: Automatic Sprint
- Equipment Behaviour: Hold
- Weapon Mount Activation: ADS + Melee
- Interact/Reload Behaviour: Prioritize Interact
- Armor Plate Behaviour: Apply All
These options are all pretty self-explanatory, apart from the Interact/Reload Behaviour option. Selecting the Prioritize Interact option for this setting will tell your character to prioritise the interact option if reload and interact are available simultaneously. This is particularly useful when looting.
Advanced – Aim Assist
- Target Aim Assist: On
- Aim Assist Type: Precision
Here's where things get really interesting. I like the Precision aim assist setting for its strong aim slowdown closer to the target, as it rewards accurate firing. But, default is also a great option.
Advanced – Gyro Aiming
- Gyro Behaviour: Off
- Gravity Vector: On
- Gyro Sensitivity Horizontal: 10
- Gyro Sensitivity Vertical: 10
- Gyro Horizontal Inversion: Off
Gyro Vertical Inversion: Off
Advanced – Aiming
- Aim Response Curve Type: Dynamic
- ADS Sens Multiplier (Focus): 0.80
- ADS Sensitivity Transition Timing: Instant
- Custom Sensitivity per Zoom: On
ADS Sens Multiplier (Low Zoom): 0.80
ADS Sens Multiplier (2x-3x Zoom): 0.85
ADS Sens Multiplier (4x-5x Zoom): 0.90
ADS Sens Multiplier (6x-7x Zoom): 0.90
ADS Sens Multiplier (8x-9x Zoom): 0.90
ADS Sens Multiplier (High Zoom): 0.90
Inputs Deadzone - Left Stick Min: 0.05
Inputs Deadzone - Right Stick Min: 0.05
Inputs Deadzone - Left Stick Max: 0.99
Inputs Deadzone - Right Stick Max: 0.99
Inputs Deadzone - Left Trigger: 0.05
Inputs Deadzone - Right Trigger: 0.05
i find that the Dynamic Aim Response Curve Type gives you better control of your weapon when firing, allowing you to be ultra-precise. For the ADS Sensitivity, the general rule is that you want lower sensitivity in close-range battles and slightly higher sensitivity in mid and long-range battles. But, not too high, as it'll be difficult to be accurate.
Deadzone is vital for helping you to control your controller's stick drift, so you want to set this as low as possible, until your crosshair drifts without any input. At this point, you want to raise the deadzone and test it out until it doesn't drift. For the trigger deadzone, you want this as low as possible, so that you can react more quickly to sudden enemy appearances.
Advanced – Movement Behaviours
- Tactical Sprint Behaviour: Double Tap
- Parachute Auto-Deploy: On
Make sure you put Parachute Auto-Deploy on, to save you from accidentally dropping to your demise.
That should help you parse through the advanced settings, and really get the most out of your Xbox Elite Series 2 controller with Warzone 2.0. We'll have plenty more tips and coverage so be sure to check back as we get more hands-on time with the game.
