The Welgun appeared in the mid-season update to Season 1 of Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific, taking advantage of a simultaneous nerf of the mighty MP40 to sneak right into the elite group of submachine guns. Since then, however, the latter has reclaimed its top spot in the category’s pecking order. That doesn’t mean the weapon meta has left the Welgun behind, though.
In Season 3, which saw a huge weakening of sniper rifles, the Welgun has once again gained prominence and is one of the most effective weapons for combat on Caldera.
