Best UK pumpkin patches for families including Halloween trails in 2021

Autumn has well and truly arrived bringing with it cosy jumpers, crisp fresh air for walks, and plenty of fun for families courtesy of half term and Halloween.

One easy and fun day out can be a trip to a pumpkin patch, whether you're after some autumnal decor or want a fun afternoon of pumpkin carving with the kids.

There are some brilliant patches around the UK to be found, but to lend a helping hand holiday parks firm Parkdean Resorts has scoured the nation to unearth some of the best ones for families to bookmark this autumn.

Check out their top picks (pun intended) below...

1. Foxes Farm Produce, Essex

Stacey Solomon is one of the celebs who's previously visited the pumpkin patch (instagram.com/foxesfarmproduce)

There are actually two locations for Foxes Farm Produce's pumpkin patches - one in Basildon, and one in Colchester. They've been running events since 2015 and have even hosted famous faces such as Stacey Solomon and Denise Van Outen, not to mention they've even appeared on This Morning.

The farm is hosting pumpkin picking until October 31 but you'll need to book a slot - you can find out more on foxesfarmproduce.co.uk.

2. Humble Bee's Pumpkin Patch, Scarborough

Not only does Humble Bee's farm boast a brilliant family-friendly pumpkin patch, but from October 23 it will be hosting a Halloween themed trail for little terrors and their parents to enjoy. Tickets start from £8 per child including a pumpkin, and adult tickets from £5 with no pumpkin.

You can find out more on humblebeefarm.co.uk.

3. Cowbridge Farm Shop, Cowbridge

Cowbridge Farm Shop has hundreds of pumpkins to choose from, complete with a large indoor area for when the British weather doesn't pay ball. The shop is open every day, 9am-6pm with free entry, and it's dog-friendly too (provided they're on a lead!).

Oh, and the shop also stocks plenty more seasonal goodies if you're looking to put together quite the feast...

You can find out more on cowbridgefarmshop.com.

4. Hill Farm, Norfolk

The farm's sprawling fields boast heaps of different pumpkins so you're sure to find your perfect fit! The farm is open throughout the week and it's long been a hit with social media fans thanks to the picture-perfect setting.

You can find out more on their Facebook page.

5. East Grange, Durham

This family-run farm in Durham has been growing pumpkins since spring, and now they're welcoming families for some pumpkin picking! We're talking 30,000 pumpkins spread out over 20 acres, with the patch open until October 31.

You'll need to pre-book as it gets popular. Entry is £5 and you can buy pumpkins from as little as £1! You can find out more on eastgrange.com.
