The Kansas City Chiefs held off a pesky Houston Texans team in overtime with a 30-24 road victory in Week 15. The Chiefs continue to keep pace with the conference-leading Buffalo Bills but clinch their seventh consecutive AFC West division title.

The mighty force of Chiefs Kingdom has flexed its power again by filling the Texans’ home stadium with Kansas City fans. The crowd can be seen clearly on television to favor mostly Chiefs fans in Houston, creating another home-field feel for Patrick Mahomes and company. Spectators and commentators from the Houston area didn’t hold back this observation on Twitter.

Mahomes connected once again with his new favorite target McKinnon on a 20-yard catch-and-run fifth touchdown of the season. The veteran running back has four touchdowns in his last three games, becoming a spoiler for many fans playing fantasy football. Twitter applauded McKinnon‘s resurgence over the previous few weeks proving to be an even more valuable option.

A fun moment for everyone watching the game at home as the TV cameras caught Jones drinking from a bottle that seemed like beer. Viewers immediately had Twitter suggestions on what was in the Pro Bowler’s bottle. The answer was later revealed as simply water, but it was an enjoyable few minutes of wonder.

The Chiefs have had a few controversial calls against them over the years from veteran referee Carl Cheffers that have garnered complaints from the fans. The latest entry in the saga was actually for him not throwing a flag against Texans DT Maliek Collins for his chokeslam sack on Mahomes.

Mahomes decided to do it himself as he scrambled for a go-ahead touchdown to begin the fourth quarter. The 5-yard run was another reminder of how clutch and versatile the all-pro QB can be both inside and outside the pocket. Twitter praised Mahomes’ latest highlight as the team battled back to take the lead in Houston.

 

Willie Gay Jr. recovers fumble in overtime

Gay Jr. made the play of the game, recovering the Texans’ fumble forced by Frank Clark in the human pile as it initially appeared that Houston got it back. The young linebacker made a huge play last week and followed things up with a game-clinching moment. Chiefs fans openly praised his play, while a former player noticed the clever technique to recover the fumble.

Jerick McKinnon ends the game with a walk off touchdown

A stressful finish to a game that could’ve gone either way, as McKinnon puts all of that to rest with a walk-off touchdown run in overtime. The veteran running back has been a force in the passing game, reminding everyone he can get the job done on the ground with the 26-yard touchdown. Twitter supporters couldn’t wait to shout out McKinnon while Chiefs fans thanked him for ending the game.
