Best tablet deals for Amazon Prime Day 2022: Offers on Fire tablet, iPad and more

It’s that time of the year again when Amazon treats us to the deals and discounts of our dreams.

There are stellar prices all round with top deals on laptops, TVs and Nintendo Switches - but the star of the show this year is tablets.

Stocking everything from the latest iPad to Fire Tablets to 2-in-1 tablet laptops, it’s time to treat yourself and bag a shiny new gadget during Amazon Prime Day.

As tablets have evolved past the basic clunky device used primarily by our technologically-challenged parents, they now encompass a wide variety of features meaning they are in demand for everyone from students doing their homework to elderly relatives keeping in touch with their family.

The thousands of models that exist make shopping for the right one tricky so we’ve handily rounded up the top features to look out for as you shop the Prime Day sales.

  • After a tablet to enhance your studies? Check out tablets that include a stylus, lots of storage space and perhaps a keyboard attachment for when you want to take quick notes.
  • For travel tablets, size is the most important thing – you want to make sure it’s compact and lightweight. Check for a long lasting battery as well because is there anything worse than the device dying halfway through your latest streaming binge?
  • Tablets for children should first and foremost be durable – it will likely go through many bumps and thumps so ensure it can withstand such treatment.
  • Those using a tablet for design purposes (including updating your Pinterest interior design board) should seek out a design tablet created specifically for drawing and illustrating.

When does Amazon Prime Day 2022 end?

Amazon Prime Day 2022 will take place between 00.01am July 12 and 23.59pm July 13 meaning there are a whole two days to browse and buy those gadgets that we’ve been after for so long.

Do you need a Prime account to get the deals?

As it says in the name - this event is all for Prime members so you will need to be a subscriber in order to access such stellar discounts. If you’re a Prime customer then get browsing now and curate your to-buy list.

Not yet a member? There is still time to sign up. Amazon is offering a free 30 day trial for new customers. If you’re then a Prime convert, after that then it’s only £7.99 a month, £79 annually or just £3.99 for students.

What type of deals are available?

Alongside traditional deals that run throughout the course of Prime Day, there will also be the Deals of the Day that last 24 hours (or until stocks last) and Lightning Deals that offer great prices and discounts that can last anywhere from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours. Don’t worry about missing out on these elusive deals as we’ll be running a live blog throughout the two days spotlighting the very best.

What deals on tablets were there last year?

Last year there were some pretty mega deals that included the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 12.3 Tablet at just £649 (saving you over £200).

What deals can we expect this year?

Amazon has given us an inside scoop into what we can expect and we know that this year there will be some of the lowest prices ever on highly sought after products. They have specifically named the Fire 7 Kids Pro Tablet as well as other Fire Tablets - so keep your eyes peeled on prices in coming weeks.
