Best royal teddy bears to celebrate the King’s Coronation

Whether you’re a lover of the royal family, or simply enjoy a good old bank holiday celebration, we’re sure you’re already gearing up for the King’s Coronation – which is set to take place on Saturday, 6 May 2023.

The first coronation of a monarch in the United Kingdom in 70 years, it’s no wonder the country is kicking up quite the fuss. Many of us – most likely because it didn’t occur during our lifetime – seem to forget that the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation is the reason we have iconic, national gems such as Coronation Street and Coronation Chicken. Why wouldn’t we welcome the introduction of spanking new national dishes and popular culture moments that’ll cement themselves in the very fabric of our favourite local pubs and delis for decades to come.

So far, we’ve been told that the special coronation dish is a very special Coronation Quiche. Filled with spinach, broad beans and fresh tarragon, the recipe is already available to make for your street party lunches. However, throwing a coronation bash requires a little bit more than just grub. Decorations are just as important. Think: Union Jack bunting, confetti, cardboard cut-outs, and other themed accoutrements for your trestle table.

Most importantly, however, is a commemorative and cuddly coronation teddy bear. Royal commemorative paraphernalia are collectors’ items, selling on eBay for large sums. But potential profit margins for grandchildren aside, the Coronation of King Charles III is a truly special historical event which is worth purchasing a sweet souvenir for.

If you’re in the market for a collectible royal teddy bear, keep scrolling for a round-up of the cutest on the market.

M&S Coronation Spencer Bear

This fuzzy bear might have a lopsided crown, but he’s perfect to us. Spencer Bear is fabricated from a super soft polyester and features a statement Union Jack design on his paws. Though not overtly collectible or marked as official memorabilia, we think Spencer would make a fabulous addition to a coronation street party and will serve as a cuddly friend in the years to follow.
