Vigour
Located on Bridge Street in the town centre, Vigour offers a healthier alternative than most - with the bar and kitchen serving brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks. The restaurant has a five star rating based on 229 reviews on Trip Advisor.
One review left in February 2023 said: "I have been coming to vigour for years. Vigour does simplicity at its finest and helps me to keep on track with my fitness goals making healthy eating delicious! The staff are super friendly and the customer service is always second to none. Highly recommended and no other place like it in my opinion!"
Mr Chan's
A family-run restaurant, Mr Chan's on North Road offers up authentic Chinese cuisine, from ribs and sharing platters to soups. The restaurant has a four and a half rating based on 360 reviews.
One review said: "I didn’t want to write this review, as it’s too good and near where I live. It was really busy on a Wednesday night for a start. The food was superb. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants, but this was another level. A little gem in St Helens. I will say no more…don’t go here…because you won’t want to go anywhere else."
Toast
Toast Coffee House and Café is a bit further out from the town centre, based in Denton's Green- but this hasn't hampered its popularity.
Specialising in English cuisine, Toast offers plates piled high with sandwiches, hash browns, eggs, and salads. It has four and a half stars based on 360 reviews.
One review said: "Staff are lovely very kind and friendly and all food is delicious. Highly recommend going for breakfast here. Always a lot of customers because everything about it is excellent, it is spotlessly clean and food is fabulous."
Limassol
One of the few Greek restaurants in St Helens, Limassol on Baldwin Street offers up authentic kebabs and salads, among plenty of other choices. It has four and a half stars based on 462 reviews.
One review said: "We had an amazing meal at Limassol tonight! This was authentic Greek and some if the best food we’ve eaten in years! The service was excellent, they regularly checked that we were happy and didn’t need anything and were very welcoming."
Ba'Bursi
Named among the top restaurants in the north west, Ba'Bursi specialises in Indian cuisine, with authentic curries flying out of the kitchen. It has a four and a half star rating based on 658 reviews.
One review said: "First visit to this restaurant after several recommendations. It was certainly worth the wait to visit and celebrate a special date. The food was lovely, a very extensive menu and the service was excellent. All in all a superb special occasion, will be back again soon."
