The Cincinnati Bengals created a groundswell of positive reactions from fans in the opening quarter of the team’s Week 8 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
That only continued throughout the course of a 31-17 win.
In the first quarter alone, Joe Burrow and Co. erupted for 14 points, which was far and away their best showing of the season coming off a bye. It seemed to confirm the idea that the bye week would help produce the best possible offense for the team.
Of course, things are never so simple and the game was anything but easy despite the fast start.
Here’s a look at the best reactions from right after the game went final.
Bengals have an OL.

MVP game. I get why he's not the leader now, but he's back and the first 6 weeks just show how VALUABLE he is. https://t.co/sK5fFWnCrV

Burrow is firmly a top 3 QB when healthy, going into San Fran & doing this to this defense is INSANE.

The offense and defense showed up for all 4 quarters. That’s one of the most impressive Bengals wins in Zac Taylor’s time in Cincinnati.

The Bengals have 4 wins.
They’re all against the NFC West.

Let’s go get Gesicki. I’m all on the make a trade plan now.

The Bengals offense took what it wanted against one of the best teams in the NFL.
The Bengals evolved, they had answers, and that’s what makes them a contender. This is what made expectations for the season so high.

Been a lot of @Joe_MainMixon haters this year, saying he’s lost a step…watch the film. The guy I always knew he was is still here…
— Kyle Caskey (@CoachKyleCaskey) October 29, 2023
I feel like I’m dreaming; the Bengals just went on the road and delivered a cover-to-cover ass-whooping of the 49ers.

THEY THOUGHT WE WERE FINISHED. THEY THOUGHT WE HAD NO SHOT. THEY THOUGHT THEY COULD KEEP THE BENGALS DOWN. I GOT NEWS FOR YOU. THE BENGALS ARE COMING FOR THAT LOMBARDI! WHO DEY!!!!!#RULETHEJUNGLE pic.twitter.com/v4m42Codff

Cincinnati goes 78 yards in 10 plays.
Bengals are up 31-17, and they're going to be 4-3. And believe it or not, presuming the Broncos hold on, they'll be just one game back in the loss column for the top seed in the AFC. https://t.co/zGpcsnhWRW
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) October 29, 2023
Joe Burrow should've dressed up as Freddy Kreuger.
25/29. 239 yards. 3 touchdowns. #Bengals up 24-10 in the fourth.
— Jeremy Rauch (@FOX19Jeremy) October 29, 2023
FINAL: #Bengals 31, 49ers 17.
It took eight weeks, but the Cincinnati team everyone expected before the year has arrived.
And elite Joe Burrow is at the forefront. He goes 28 of 32 (what!?!), makes every play imaginable and some inconceivable.
— Paul Dehner Jr. (@pauldehnerjr) October 29, 2023
The Bengals defense is gonna get credited with so many garbage time passing yards from this one 😂
— Willie Lutz (@willie_lutz) October 29, 2023
The Bengals are a bad burrow sack/McPherson miss and an Irv smith fumble at the 5 yard line from dog walking the 49ers on the road.
— Andrew Russell (@Andrew_Russell7) October 29, 2023
What a complete victory! Best game of the season by far! WHO DEY?!
— Chris Brantley (@PChrisBrantley) October 29, 2023
Zac Taylor just went head to head with Kyle Shannahan and outcoached him.
— Drew Garrison (@DrewGarrison) October 29, 2023
We're so back. Beat a top 5 team by two scores on the road.
Who dey my dudes 😎

In addition to the big win in SF< the #Bengals get losses by the Steelers and Browns to move into a 3-way tie for second place in the division.

On any given Sunday, against an elite NFL offense, there is no defensive coordinator I would trust over Lou Anarumo.
The body of work is impossible to argue against.

Massive shoutout to the offensive tackles btw. They were legitimately good today.
