Local media in the Midlands were in awe at the performance of Matheus Nunes for Wolves as they drew 1-1 at Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
The Portugal international was linked with a move to Liverpool last summer before completing a move to Wolves from Sporting Lisbon, but the Reds have reportedly reignited their interest ahead of another summer transfer.
Wolves claimed a valuable point away to Unai Emery's side as they look to battle their way out of danger in the Premier League, with Nunes being labelled the "best player on the pitch."

Liverpool are reportedly interested in securing a £50million move for the 24-year-old for the summer as Nunes has already played for two clubs this term.
Pep Guardiola once labelled the former Sporting Lisbon man one of the "world's best" in his position and his performance on Wednesday night showed exactly why he would improve the Liverpool midfield.
Birmingham Live rated Nunes an 8.5 out of 10 and said: "Aside from the last 15 minutes, when Wolves lost their rhythm, Matheus was the best player on the pitch. He controlled the tempo of the match and showed why he is one of the most sought-after midfielders in Europe."
The ECHO understands that Liverpool 's interest in Nunes has been described as 'long standing' and the Reds did assess the merits of the 24-year-old last term during his final season in Portugal's Primeira Liga.
But when asked about the speculation earlier this week, Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui said: “We can say that Matheus is our player, he’s a Wolves player and he’s so happy to be here”.
