Best places to watch the World Cup 2022 in Liverpool

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is set to kick off on November 20 in Qatar, with excitement building as the competition draws closer.

This will be the first time that the event will be taking place during the winter months, with matches running up until the final on December 18. England will play their first match of the tournament against Iran on Monday, November 21., before facing the USA on Friday, November 25 and Wales on Tuesday, November 29 in what will be England's final group stage match.

Many of Liverpool's much-loved venues are gearing up to host special screenings and parties for fans to enjoy. We've rounded up a guide to the best places to catch all of the 2022 World Cup action in Liverpool.

FanPark Liverpool

Liverpool's biggest World Cup fan park will be coming to Sefton Park from November 20 to December 18. Guests of all ages can head to Sefton Park Cricket Club to watch the event, with every match being shown on its huge screen.

FanPark Liverpool is home to a fully covered and heated 2,500 seater Big Top, as well as food from a range of local suppliers, a fully stocked bar, variety of entertainment and football legends. Entry to the park is completely free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

For larger groups or those who wish to prebook, there are also table reservations available for up to eight people in the main area of the park. Table reservations are £20 and guests must pre order a drinks package.

Hilton Hotel Liverpool

The Hilton Hotel in Liverpool city centre is looking to build on the success of its sell-out Champion's League events by showing all of the big games on giant screens in the Pima Bar and The Exchange Restaurant.

Fans who watch the World Cup at the hotel will be able to enjoy a burger with a beer or Prosecco for £15. Bookings can be made by emailing lplhi_fb@hilton.com or calling the hotel on 0151 708 4200.

Red Door

Berry street venue Red Door is hosting World Cup screenings, ensuring that fans don't miss out on all of the action of the tournament. The bar will be installing six screens throughout the venue, offering guests a prime view of the games.

Tables can be booked online via the Red Door website. There will also be a selection of food and drink offers to enjoy at the screenings. Customers can buy a beer and a shot for £6, a beer and pizza for £10, a classic cocktail for £6.50 and 12 bottles of Budweiser for £25.

Powerleague Liverpool

Powerleague Liverpool will be transformed into a fan zone, with every World Cup game to be shown live at the Whittle Street-based venue. Fans can watch all of the matches for free, with no booking required.

A range of food and drink will also be available to enjoy during the screenings. You can find out more via the Powerleague Liverpool website.

The Wheelbarrow

Newly-opened pub The Wheelbarrow will be showing the World Cup games on giant HD screens. The South Liverpool pub is located next to the Greenbank Sports Academy on Greenbank Road.

The venue will be stocking a selection of world beers and will be serving an array of football-inspired snacks and treats including hot dogs, sausage rolls, scotch eggs and pies.

Ten Streets Social

Ten Streets Social on Regent Road will be showing the World Cup games throughout November and December. The venue will be showing all England games, as well as the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final.

A selection of beers and food will be available, with a full small plate menu and match day specials on offer. Live music will be performed before and after the games. What's more, Ten Streets Social will also have a merchandise stall set up inside the venue for those wishing to buy flags and scarves to show their support.

Harrison's Bar and Kitchen

Situated on North John Street, Harrison's Bar and Kitchen is a family-run sports bar. The venue has confirmed that it will be showing England v Iran, England v USA and Wales v England.

Scruffy Murphy's

The Harrington Street-based Irish-American bar will be showing England's group matches throughout November. Scruffy Murphy's will also be hosting a Chamber Social on Monday, November 21.

Liverpool Chamber of Commerce members will be able to attend the event for free and watch England play Iran in the company of colleagues. Those who are not Liverpool Chamber members but are interested in attending can email jordan.rhoda@liverpoolchamber.org.uk.

Pub Invest Group venues

Several pubs owned by Pub Invest Group will be screening the World Cup games. Einstein in Concert Square will be showing matches throughout the tournament, with walk-in customers only.

Boston Pool Loft will also be showing matches. Cheers Big Ears on Bold Street is showing every World Cup game. Dirty O'Sheas will be showing matches with live commentary. Legends Sports Bar and The Hatch will also be screening fixtures throughout the tournament.
