Best phone providers where you can save up to £700 ranked - from O2 to Vodafone

Customers using the perks available to O2 customers could potentially make savings of up to £700, according to research from Uswitch.

The price comparison site compared SIM-only deals available from major UK mobile phone providers and found that O2 offered the "most valuable perks" over a longer period.

O2 perks which customers can claim each week include things such as free Greggs coffee, sausage roll and a breakfast roll and a free Odeon cinema ticket - you can shop with O2 here.

Customers can also claim bigger perks such as a free 43" Bravia TV, worth £529, if you buy or take out a contract deal on a Sony Xperia 1 IV or 5 IV, before April 5.

In total, Uswitch valued the overall perks from O2 at £2,135.67.

This means that, over 24 months, you could be saving £699.23.

This figure also factors in contract costs and the cost required to redeem some of the perks.

USwitch says that if you opt for the O2 SIM only £6 per month 4GB deal and take advantage of all of the perks on offer, your perks will be worth £1,102.44.

That’s 665.58% profit on the total contract amount over a two-year period.

After O2, Uswitch found that Three's perks were worth a value of £257.08 overall when factoring in the cost of the contract.

It also found that the perks after 12 months for Three’s SIM only 3GB £5 a month contract would be worth 549.8% of the contract cost.

USwitch placed Vodafone in third place finding that Vodafone’s customers could earn up to £206.08 in their first month by taking advantage of the mobile phone providers' deals.

The comparison site noted that providers Lebara, iD mobile and giffgaff offer a range of one-month rolling contracts which offer a set of one-off perks that can be redeemed in the first month of your contract.

However, once the perks have been used, the value of them depreciates, making contracts less profitable.

Some were even found not to be profitable whatsoever over a two to 24 month period.
