When it comes to franchise records, a team with an NBA-record 17 titles has some pretty impressive ones racked up over the course of nearly eight decades of excellence. So when the Boston Celtics put up a franchise record lead on the Golden State Warriors at TD Garden on this past Sunday afternoon, it was kind of a big deal.
The Celtics did see some bleeding to their historic lead in the game’s second half when Boston cleared the bench midway through the third frame. But they still managed to finish the contest with the third-largest margin of victory in Celtics history. Did we mention there is quite a bit of history surrounding this ball club?
