Best men’s grooming brands to know for your cabinet

Now that we have our skincare regimes down to a fine art, it’s high time we spared a thought for the men in our lives. After all, dirty skin doesn’t discriminate against gender!

Indeed, men need as much skincare indulgence and attention as the rest of us and it would appear there’s a market for it too: according to recent figures, the male beauty industry is worth 81.2 billion U.S. dollar globally and £500 million in the UK alone.

For men in 2021, it’s no longer a case of wash ‘n’ go. There is a host of brands dipping their toes into the male grooming pond.

These are some of the best.

Kiehl’s Men’s Grab & Go Essentials

A go-to for all things skincare related, Kiehl’s has been the purveyor in efficacious skincare since inception in 1851 in New York City. You’d be forgiven for assuming it was all for women, but its men’s skincare is as effective and covetable.

Not only does this quartet of products save you 10 per cent, but their packaging is also made using 100 per cent recyclable materials with no plastic. The four products include the caffeine and vitamin-infused Facial Fuel Cleanser, the Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream, the Facial Fuel Energising Moisture Treatment and the brand’s exfoliating “Ultimate Man” Body Scrub Soap.

Elemis Men’s Hydrate and Revitalise Duo

Skincare supremo Elemis’ history dates back to 1989, when entrepreneur Linda Steiner co-founded it in London. Fast forward several years and innumerable award-winning skincare launches later and the brand is now revered for its natural approach to beauty.

The brand’s men’s skincare range struggles to stay in stock for good reason: it really works. The standout from its offering is the Hydrate and Revitalise Duo, which comprises a duo of Daily Moisture Boost, a lightweight moisturiser, and Time Defence Eye Reviver, which is proven to reduce the depths of wrinkles by up to 37 per cent.

Typology Men’s bestsellers trio

This set ought to be a go-to for even the most grooming averse among us. Included in the line-up are the 9 Ingredient Face Moisturiser, Organic Peppermint Hydrolate and a Caffeine and Niacinamide Eye Serum which promise to restore, replenish and nourish skin.

Charles & Lee Mr. Business Pack

Born in Melbourne, Charles & Lee came to life when its founders noticed a gap in the market for designated men’s skincare. When they got to researching, they stumbled upon research which suggested that 40 per cent of men have never tried a skin care product designed specifically for men and 78 per cent of men choose to steal their partner’s skin care as opposed to invest in their own.

The best place to start with the brand is the Mr. Business Pack, which comes with a refreshing face wash bursting with Vitamin A and nourishing grapeseed oil, a moisturiser and a hand and body wash, all housed in a chic toiletries bag. Make borrowing your partner’s skincare a thing of the past!
