Best man branded 'worst in history' after sharing groom cheating scandal in speech

A best man has been branded the 'worst in history' after he revealed a cheating scandal the groom was involved in during his wedding speech.

An anonymous wedding photographer wrote into Scottish podcast, Girls Overheard, to describe the best and worst stories they had experienced while working at various ceremonies.

In a clip posted on TikTok, podcast host Lauren Kerr read aloud one particular story the professional photographer had experienced involving a drunk best man giving an 'explosive' speech.

"We have the worst best man in history. We were photographing the most beautiful day, everything was perfect," she said.

"The bride and groom were super happy and in love. Then on, comes the speeches.

"The best man, who was the brother of the groom, was quite drunk, so we were anticipating a slightly risky speech.

"The best man proceeded to talk tales of how they used to bring back girls to the flat, the good old days, and they proceeded to talk about a story of how two girls came back to the house."

Fellow host Eilidh Wells interrupted and said: "Why would you do that at a wedding anyway?"

Lauren responded: "I don't know, why would that ever be the place?"

She continued: "At first I was like, that's awkward, mentioning other girls in the speech and their escapades.

"But soon, I realised that something wasn't right when the bride looked like she was about to kill the brother and the groom, and her eyes were also filling up with tears.

"The groom stood up and told the best man to finish it up, but he kept going and going, until eventually a family member pulled him out the room - to which the bride then stormed off.

"About 10 minutes later, I found myself and my second shooter walking into the hallway to overhear the bride arguing with the groom , asking him if the stories were true.

"They continued to argue during their first dance, and in all of the photos, then the brother got sent home shortly after.

"A few months after the wedding, they got their photographs sent to them, and ordered their wedding album without any photos of the best man in it.

"To this day, they are still together."

The podcaster concluded: "What we later found out is that they had been together for 10 years, he had only ever lived in the flat with her, and never by himself previously.

"And then they bought a house together."

Fellow host Ashleigh Reid softly said: "So, he's cheated?"

With the caption, "Explosive wedding speech. Take notes boys - what NOT to put in your best man toast!", the TikTok clip garnered over 8,500 likes and 172,000 views in total.

Comments flooded into the video, as one TikTok user said: "Wedding photographers must have ALL the stories."

Another wrote: "The best man trying to sabotage the day."

A third said: "Sorry, best man or not, he would be wearing my red wine!"
