FIFTEEN Scottish restaurants were shortlisted as being among the best in Scotland as part of a list of 100 of the best local eateries across the UK.
The Good Food Guide unveiled its annual list of the best local restaurants with a total of 15 being shortlisted as among the best in Scotland.
The top prize went to The Kinneuchar Inn in Kilconquhar, Fife. The Good Food Guide’s website described it as being “still part of the local scene” and as a “rare example of genuine dining pub in Scotland”.

- Bar Brett – Glasgow
- Eighty Eight – Glasgow
- Ga Ga Kitchen & Bar – Glasgow
- Gloriosa – Glasgow
- The Palmerston – Edinburgh
- L’Escargot Bleu – Edinburgh
- Kora by Tom Kitchin – Edinburgh
- The Dory Bistro – Pittenweem, Fife
- The Kinneuchar Inn – Kilconquhar, Fife
- The Galleon Bistro- Isle of Mull
- The Bothy – Moray
- The Oystercatcher – Otter Ferry, Argyll & Bute
A spokesperson for the Good Food Guide said: “Our Best Local Restaurant list celebrates the places that are the beating heart of communities around Britain.
“Using reader nominations as a driving force, we inspected a great number of restaurants in Scotland to decide which ones deserved a place in the 100 Best Local Restaurants 2023.
