Voted the number one restaurant in St Helens on TripAdvisor and the Travellers Choice Awards 2022, Vigour Kitchen is taking St Helens by storm.
The restaurant has risen through the ranks of the review site to become the number one venue and hotspot in St Helens. The restaurant serves breakfast/brunch, a wide variety of small plates, burgers, wraps and you can even create your own meal. On Sundays, you can indulge in a hearty roast dinner.
Scott Anderson, owner of Vigour, told the ECHO: “We are a neighbourhood kitchen concept that offers casual dining and small plates. We’ve created a space that is a little piece of the city, without having to travel into the city. A place where you can relax, drink and dine with friends, loved ones and family.”

“It’s been a tough six years having weathered the storm as a start up in an already struggling town centre to then dealing with the effects of the pandemic and now the cost-of-living crisis, it’s really been quite difficult. Not just for us, but hospitality as a whole.”
Vigour’s head chef has previous experience across a number of AA rosettes and Michelin-starred restaurants. Scott said: “He has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience which has elevated the food offering that separates us from the rest.”
He added: “The key to our success is that we offer something for everyone, whether it be small plates, create your own meal, selection of burgers, and a Sunday roast every Sunday. Our concept is a peculiar one due to location and our offering, but in a weird way it works.”
The restaurant has racked up a number of five star reviews on TripAdvisor. Among the reviews, one happy customer wrote: “What would we do without Vigour? Be prepared to keep going back.”
Another customer said: “We always have the best roast here on a Sunday and we wouldn’t go anywhere else! Exceptional service and can’t wait to return!” While a third added: “Michelin star food in St Helen’s!!! Who knew…. Best kept secret…… you have to try here, you won’t be disappointed.”
