After the third full slate of regular season action, the NFL and fantasy football are back in full swing.
If you had a tough injury in Week 3, or you just didn’t get the production from one of your players that you expected, we’ll scan the waiver wire. For potential pickups, we’ll consider players who are available in at least 50% of ESPN fantasy leagues.
Buy Dolphins TicketsLet’s take a look at some of the potential waiver wire pickups that could help your teams heading into Week 4 of the NFL campaign.
Jordan Love, QB, Green Bay Packers (47.6%)
Through three weeks, Love has averaged 22.5 fantasy points per game, making him the fourth-best option at the position. The only quarterbacks ahead of him are Justin Herbert, Kirk Cousins and Tua Tagovailoa.
On top of that, he’s done it all without his top weapon, second-year wideout Christian Watson. When Watson returns, Love should only get better, and he should be rostered in all leagues.
De'Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins (16.1%)
The rookie out of Texas A&M received a lot of love after the draft as a potential weapon right away for Tagovailoa, and after taking a couple of weeks as the team’s third/fourth back, he was thrust into a bigger role in Week 3 due to an injury to Salvon Ahmed.
Achane rewarded the Dolphins with 233 total yards, four receptions and four total touchdowns.
It’s unclear if Achane sees the same usage when Ahmed and Jeff Wilson return from their injuries, but he may have just made it too hard for Mike McDaniel to put him back on the bench.
Tank Dell, WR, Houston Texans (23.3%)
The Houston Texans may be just 1-2, but they have a trio of young pass catchers that could be making themselves fantasy-relevant over the next year.
Dell, a rookie from Houston, may end up being the standout of the group. Through three games, he’s scored the 10th-most points at wide receiver (44.6). His usage alone (21 targets) makes him a threat, but he’s also found the end zone twice.
Jake Ferguson, TE, Dallas Cowboys (19.8%)
With Dalton Schultz signing with the Texans this offseason, the Cowboys were looking for one of their young tight ends to emerge, and it looks like Ferguson is going to be the one to step up.
Through three games, he’s the 12th-ranked tight end in terms of scoring (18.0 points). He also hasn’t found the end zone yet, so his numbers could jump if Dak Prescott uses him more in the red zone.
Buccaneers, D/ST (21.2%)
The Buccaneers, despite not registering a fantasy point last week against the Philadelphia Eagles’ explosive offense, are still the eighth-highest-scoring defense in fantasy (17.1 points).
This week, they take on the New Orleans Saints, who will likely be starting Jameis Winston, who the Buccaneers originally selected with the first overall pick back in 2015. Winston is always good for a turnover or two, so Tampa Bay could be the best streaming option in Week 4.
