Newcastle United co-owner Jamie Reuben has told the club's supporters that the 'best side in the world' will be back 'stronger and better' after their Carabao Cup final loss this afternoon.
Two first-half goals for Manchester United from Casemiro and an own goal from Magpies defender Sven Botman meant Eddie Howe's side couldn't secure a first major domestic trophy for the first time since 1955.
The Magpies were unable to make a second-half comeback, despite spirited efforts which saw them dominate in possession but unable to breakdown Erik ten Hag's defence.

Reuben took to social media as the full-time whistle blew, saying that the fans are the ones that make the club so great and told them not to 'doubt' their ability to bunce back from a disappointing defeat.
He wrote: "This is why we are the best club in the world - thank you. Don’t doubt we will be back - stronger and better @NUFC."
