A Newcastle burger business run by two Gosforth brothers is continuing to celebrate success in the region after announcing that the delicious dishes are set to take up residence at the coast.
Brack Burger, set up by brothers Joe and Ollie Brack in January last year, began as a takeaway service from their dad’s pub The Jubilee in Gosforth before spreading across to more venues in Jesmond and the Ouseburn. Now, their fifth venue has been announced as the Surf Cafe in Tynemouth in an exciting move for the pair.
Joe said that they “couldn’t say yes quick enough” when the opportunity arose to bring Brack’s burgers to the Surf Cafe menu. “My brother and I have made no secret of our desire to venture out to the coast with Brack Burger one day, and I'm just pleased that it's sooner than we could ever have imagined,” he said, hailing Tynemouth as “one of my favourite places”.

Starting up a business during Covid was no mean feat - but Joe said that Brack Burger has gone from “strength to strength” thanks to the support of Newcastle food lovers, and that they have “a lot planned” over the next few months. Their mouth-watering burger menu, which doubled in size with several new tasty additions earlier this year, features a range of delicious twists on the classic beef burger.
Surf Cafe manager Michael said that he believes Brack Burger will “bring something new and interesting to the coast that our customers will love”, and praised the “passion and respect” that Joe and Ollie have for their craft. As the newest member of Brack’s growing list of venues the Surf Cafe will join SOHO in Jesmond, Central Park in Newcastle city centre , the Ouseburn Garden, and The Jubilee - where it all started.
Brack Burger fans shared their excitement at the announcement on social media, with one diner hailing the burgers coming to the coast as a “game changer”. The grub regularly racks up five-star reviews, with more than one person dubbing them “the best burgers in Newcastle”.
The burgers will be a permanent addition to the Surf Cafe menu from Friday 22 July. Brack Burger is a finalist in both the Best Casual Dining and Covid Success Story categories in the ChronicleLive Newcastle Loves awards - you can vote for your winner here .
