Best burger in Derry as restaurant make UK's top 40 Burger Bucket List

A mouth-watering burger from a Derry restaurant has made it to a UK burger bucket list. The Top 40 list features a burger from 40 different restaurants from around the UK.

The bucket list, from StagWeb, were chosen based on a variety of factors including the burger itself, the venue, reviews and more. The stag party organiser put the list together in a bid to find the UK’s best to help advise their stags on where they can grab the best burgers about.

Pyke 'N' Pommes made the list with their Vegenderry Burger. StagWeb said: "The insane flavours going on in this absolute feast couldn’t go unnoticed. Not only is it a meat-free /guilt-free option, but it’s also switching up the nation’s favourite meaty burgers that are dripping in cheese and other wacky sauces. We want light, fresh, and zesty – and we’ve found it.

The Derry restaurant opened its doors in 2013 and changed the burger scene in the city forever. Founder Kevin Pyke’s journey began years earlier as he refined his burger craft in some stellar kitchens before returning to his homeland to revolutionise the stacked patty game and elevate it to refined new levels.

Ronan Hayden, who is assistant manager at Pyke 'N' Pommes, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have this recognition bestowed upon us.

"Our boss Kevin [Pyke] opened Pyke 'N' Pommes almost a decade ago and authentic, ambitious street food came to life in Derry.

"We have a brilliant crew here working on two sites, the POD on the Riverfront and the restaurant on Strand Road, who have a great passion for the job."

He continued: "We always try to keep on top of our game and love interacting with our customers and followers, involving them in our menus and plans."

Bunsen Burger and Tribal Burger in Belfast were also placed in a list of the top 40 burger joints that you must try across the UK.

Meanwhile, Steve Roddy, StagWeb’s Director of Operations, said: “We’re on the hunt to unearth the best burgers in the UK to help advise our stags – and the UK as a whole – where to get the best bite on the market. From Cornwall to Inverness, Belfast to Brighton, we’ve handpicked some of our favourites for people to go out and try."
