Best broadband Black Friday 2022 deals with Sky, BT, EE, Virgin Media, Vodafone and more

Switching to a better broadband deal or finding the right provider can be a little overwhelming. There's lots of deals to choose from, with many providers promising to give you the best one but how can you be sure?

The majority of deals often tie you in for 18 months or longer so if you're thinking of getting a new broadband service or switching to a cheaper deal you'll need to make sure you choose the right one for you, reliable and best-suited to your lifestyle needs.

Black Friday is just around the corner too so now may be as good as any time to switch and make the most of the cheaper deals at this time of year. Black Friday will take place on November 25, 2022 and many tech companies will be releasing their sales soon, some as early as the start of the November month.

Last year Plusnet offered packages from as low as £18 a month and threw in £60 high-street gift cards too, while Sky offered customers reductions on their Superfast broadband packages starting from £25 a month, so you can be certain that many providers will have their broadband packages reduced for Black Friday 2022, with other perks added on top.

With just weeks to go until the biggest shopping event of the year arrives, we've compiled a list of some of the best-value broadband deals you can get right now, including standard, superfast and ultrafast (fibre) options. Most prices will depend on your location so the below are based on an average price.

We will be updating this list regular but please do drop us a comment below to let us know of any deals you have seen that aren't on the list.

BT

BT are on one of the biggest providers out there when it comes to broadband. They offer big packages on broadband and TV as well as gaming bundles.

Their Black Friday 2021 sale gave shoppers three months of free broadband with all new contracts, whether that's the basic Fibre Essential deal or the premium Full Fibre 900 package. Additionally, BT also offered BT Sport and BT TV packages for half-price for the first three months of new contracts.

BT currently have a Black Friday 2022 deals page set up here which is worth browsing and saving in the run up to the event on November 25. Shoppers can also sign up for an exclusive access to their Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2022 promotions via email here.

BT have also just launched a limited time offer on broadband including Fibre Essential, Superfast Fibre and Full Fibre plans. From now until November 3, new customers taking out BT Broadband will get the first three months of their package for free, including a free Set Up Fee ( usual price of £29.99 ).

Within this period, new and existing BT customers will also be able to take out Complete Wi-Fi and receive the first three months for free – saving £36 in total. Complete Wi-Fi delivers wall-to-wall coverage around your home, using Wi-Fi discs to extend your Smart Hub 2's signal.

For more information on BT TV and broadband, visit www.bt.com/tv. BT partner with EE to deliver their broadband packages, meaning customers can get a mobile network with EE and a broadband package with BT.

EE

EE launched their Black Friday sales early last year, reducing their standard broadband and fibre broadband places on November 15, 2021, more than ten days before Black Friday.

The tech giant also had their Fibre package for last year's Black Friday event for £24 a month over 24 months, which had 36 Mb/s download speeds, while their Full Fibre Max 900Mb/s package came in at £55 a month over 24 months. Their standard 10Mb/s package was the cheapest, starting from £21.50 a month over 24 months.

It's likely EE will launch their sales early for Black Friday 2022 to compete with the other big broadband providers on the market. EE have a Black Friday 2022 landing page on their website but it's just for phone deals currently, however it is likely that broadband deals will begin to drop on here as we edge nearer to November.

EE partner with BT to deliver their broadband packages, meaning customers can get a mobile network with EE and a broadband package with BT.

Plusnet

Plusnet offer various deals which aim to be at the cheaper end of the broadband market. They give customers choices from their essential broadband to superfast fibre packages. They also offer SIM only deals as bundles with broadband too.

For Black Friday last year the company gave shoppers a selection of offers on its various home broadband packages. One of the deals included free activation fees, and reward cards worth either £50 or £60 to spend on the high street or online. The cheapest package they had started from £18.95 a month for a 10M/bs download speeds.

Currently, Plusnet's cheapest package comes in at £21.99 a month for their Unlimited Fibre and Unlimited Fibre Extra plan. This includes download speeds of up to 66M/bs. It's likely though that come Black Friday, most of their packages will be under the £20 mark.

Shell Energy Broadband

Shell Energy don't just offer energy tariffs but they also give customers broadband packages too. They have took part in previous Black Friday sales and last year they gave new customers a £75 Shell Energy shop voucher, with broadband packages starting from less than £20 a month.

Currently Shell Energy Broadband have standard broadband packages as well as Ultrafast and Full Fibre, all deliver different download speeds and come with different prices. Their cheapest offer at the moment is their Fast Broadband at £18.99 a month, which includes 11 Mb/s download speed over 18 months.

Their other deals include:

Sky

The better offers with Sky broadband came on Cyber Monday (the Monday after Black Friday) last year which included a reduced Superfast broadband at £25 a month for 18 months, making it cheaper than their Essential Plus package.

Sky weren't the cheapest though when they came to one-off broadband deals for Black Friday but they do stand out when it comes to bundle deals. They are worth considering if you want TV, mobile and a broadband package all in one as these bundles tend to be the most reduced for Black Friday.

The best broadband deals that are currently active on Sky include:

  • Superfast Broadband - £28 a month for 18 months - average download speeds of 59Mb/s. Set up £19.95.
  • Q Lite - Superfast Broadband and Sky Q - £31 a month for 18 months - average download speeds of 36Mb/s and 250+ freeview channels on Sky Q box. Set up £29.95.
  • Ultrafast Broadband - £35 a month for 18 months - average download speeds of 145Mb/s. Set up £19.95.
  • Ultrafast Plus - £45 a month for 18 months - average download speeds of 500M/bs. Set up £19.95.
  • Gigafast - £55 a month for 18 months - average download speeds of 900M/bs. Set up £19.95.

TalkTalk

TalkTalk currently have broadband deals from £24 a month. Their Fibre 35 plan promises average download speeds of 38 Mb/s over 24 months. The telecoms company also has a Fibre 150 Ultrafast package for £29.95 a month over 24 months, which includes average download speeds of 145 Mb/s. You can see all of their deals here.

Virgin Media

Shoppers who were looking for a fibre broadband connection without a packaged phone line and TV service were able to save £342 last Black Friday across Virgin Media's M100, M200, M350 and M500 fibre broadband deals from November 17, 2021 to December 1.

It's estimated, based on last year's launch, that Virgin Media will go live with their Black Friday 2022 deals in the week before Black Friday itself, which takes place on November 25, 2022. You can save their landing page here for updates.

The cheapest broadband package we have seen with Virgin Media is their M100 Fibre Broadband & Talk Weekends plan. This combines broadband and a landline and promises 108Mb/s download speeds for 18 months, with no setup costs for £26 a month.

Their other offers include:

  • M200 Fibre Broadband & Talk Weekends and O2 SIM - 213Mb/s download speeds and no setup costs, over 18 months for £29.99 a month.
  • M200 Fibre Broadband & Talk Weekends - 213 Mb/s download speeds, no setup fees over 18 months at £31 a month.
  • M50 Fibre Broadband (good for smaller households with up to four devices) - 54Mb/s download speeds at £36 a month over 24 months with a £35 setup fee.
  • M200 Fibre Broadband, Talk Weekends & 100+ TV channels - 213Mb/s download speeds over 18 months, with no setup fees for £33 a month.
  • M500 Fibre Broadband, Talk Weekends & 190+ TV channels + O2 SIM - 516 Mb/s download speeds, no setup fees over 18 months at £49 a month.

Vodafone

Vodafone launched some seriously discounted broadband deals for Black Friday 2021, undercutting other major providers. Their Black Friday and Cyber Monday deal last year caught the attention of many consumers, which included their Superfast 2 plan for just £20 a month.

The two-year package gave users an estimated 73Mb/s download speeds, enough bandwidth for two people to stream 4K videos at once, with a 4.5GB download taking just ten minutes. Vodafone called it their "best-ever deal" at the time. So it seems this year they have a tough job on their hands of beating their previous offer.

Vodafone have a range of broadband deals so suit different needs. Their cheapest comes in at £20 a month for their standard broadband which gives users an intelligent Wi-Fi hub, unlimited usage, no upfront costs, a Vodafone Together discount and a landline included. Or there's their Pro Broadband which at £28 a month gets you an automatic 4G broadband back-up, super Wi-Fi booster for reliable Wi-Fi in every room, dedicated Wi-Fi experts on call 24/7 and 12 months free Norton 360 Premium.

Their Superfast 2 package this time around is £22 per month for 67 Mb/s download speeds on a 24-month contract, with no setup costs. Vodafone say all of their broadband plans have speeds up to 910 Mb/s depending on location.
