When I got this jar of bacon jam with maple syrup, I couldn’t figure out what to do with it. A diagram on the back says to use it on cows, chickens, pigs, fish, fries and pizza. So I tasted it. The texture is certainly jammy, and there is a sweetness from the maple syrup, but it’s the hint of smoky bacon that makes this so unique. I served it with my holiday charcuterie trays, and it was a hit. A little of it spread on a cracker with meat and cheese brought out all the flavors. I’ve since used it on smoked ribs, and it was every bit as good as you are imagining.
