Best Amazon Nintendo Switch deals for Prime Day 2022

Amazon Prime Day is set to take place on July 12 and 13 and will give shoppers some of the best shopping discounts of 2022 so far. Treated as almost a mid-summer Black Friday by the retailer, Amazon discounts thousands of its most popular products for anything between one hour to 48 hours.

This is of particular interest to Nintendo Switch gamers because, somewhat inevitably, consoles, games, accessories and peripherals are top sellers for Amazon and, as such, it's likely we'll see plenty of big discounts on Nintendo products.

Amazon does not release details on its discounts until the promotion starts, but previously Nintendo Switch bundles, games, cases and other items have been discounted during the 48 hour window. What's more, even before the event officially gets started, there are already some great deals on Nintendo Switch games, gadgets and peripherals. We've rounded up some of the best currently available.

Previously, Prime Day has seen some great discounts on console bundle options, with Ring Fit Adventure and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe featuring last year.

For shoppers looking for standalone consoles, the signs are there that some discounts will be available. Amazon price tracker Camel Camel Camel shows that the standard Switch dropped to £230 in April, so a similar discount may be on the cards. Currently the standard Switch is £251 for the Neon version.

Gamers looking to pick up the newest Switch in the dynasty, the Nintendo Switch OLED should watch Prime Day pricing with interest. Launched shortly before Black Friday last year, the OLED model hasn't been part of Prime Day before although it's price was reduced to £289 in May. It is currently on the site at £303 in white.

Meanwhile, there's some great deals to be had on Switch Lites already although, as always, it's very dependent on colour choices. If you're not fussed on particular colours then you can get a Coral version for £189.49 currently, although frankly with a discount of £20 you could always pick up a case of a different colour to hide the pink and still be making a saving.

There are lots of gaming headsets, controllers and such already in the sale. We like this Gootop headset which has a noise cancelling microphone and in-line controls including a one-key mute. It's currently down to £15.99 reduced by 27%.

There are also a lot of Orzly Nintendo accessories and peripherals already available with discounts. Perfect for gaming on the go or little hands more at risk of dropping their console, they do everything from tempered glass screen protectors through to big carry cases. This protective back cover for standard Switches is reduced by 43% to £8.49. This OLED carry case comes in a gift box making it an ideal gift and is £13.99, reduced by 26%.

If you would prefer to keep your gaming in one spot then this £57.30 gaming chair might be more your speed. Reduced by 29% it is cheery yellow and includes an image of everyone's favourite Nintendo dinosaur, Yoshi.

Whatever kind of games you prefer to play, there's also a range of different genres already discounted, with more set to go live over Prime Day. Current discounts include:
