Besiktas release statement on Weghorst
Besiktas have released a statement announcing that reports suggesting striker Wout Weghorst is set to leave the club for a Premier League side are "fictitious" and denying the existence of an exit clause in his contract.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a loan move for the 30-year-old striker, who is currently on loan with the Turkish outfit from Burnley, who were relegated into the Championship last season. Manchester Evening News understands the club are working on a compensation package which, might, convince Besiktas to terminate Weghorst's loan and allow the striker to move to Old Trafford.

United have made an offer to Burnley, which has been passed on to the Turkish giants, but Besiktas have rejected that proposal. They have claimed that they plan to keep the player until the summer.
United laugh off speculation over Maguire
Harry Maguire expects to stay at Manchester United beyond the January window amid links with Aston Villa.
Sources close to Maguire and United say they have found the feverish speculation "laughable" after Maguire was supposedly spotted in Birmingham over the weekend. Maguire is believed to have gone to The Belfry to play golf after United were in FA Cup action on Friday night.
Although the England international, 29, has slipped down the pecking order at United this campaign, manager Erik ten Hag wants to keep his captain until next summer at least.
