Bertie Ahern, the former Taoiseach of Ireland, has rejoined the Fianna Fail party.
The move comes 11 years after he resigned from the party following the Mahon Tribunal. Fianna Fail confirmed earlier today that Mr Ahern submitted a membership application and it had been accepted.
His return to the party comes as speculation surrounds a possible attempt at a Presidential run in the 2025 elections. In the first year of his party membership he will have no votings rights.
