Bernardo Silva sends Man City warning following Gabriel Jesus exit rumours

Bernardo Silva has claimed Gabriel Jesus is one of Manchester City's most important players following reports the Brazilian could leave the club this summer.

Jesus netted in the 2-2 Premier League draw with Liverpool earlier this month before recording an assist in the FA Cup semi-final loss to the Reds a few days later. This preceded his four goals and assist against Watford on Saturday and his strike against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

The attacker had been linked with a potential switch to Arsenal amid limited game-time under Pep Guardiola this season. Jesus has started just three league matches in 2022 but his recent outings have surely made him undroppable for the trip to Leeds on Saturday.

Teammate Silva, who netted a great goal in the 4-3 Champions League win over Madrid in midweek, praised Jesus for his form and labelled him one of his side's most important players.

“Gabriel Jesus is in fantastic shape. He scored four goals last weekend, on Tuesday another one," he told mancity.com. “He is a great player and he deserves the best for the way he trains and plays for the team. With his talent, his attitude to helping the team is admirable. He is one of our most important players.”

Silva also sent a message to City fans regarding their second leg against Madrid in Spain. He warned that anything can happen but vowed that the team will be ready for the battle in the Bernabeu.

He said: "We face every game the same way: To win. We are going to Madrid to win the game, knowing that we are facing a top team. It's going to be tough in front of their fans, they are going to be on top of us. Two of the best teams in the world in a great venue at the semi-finals of such a special competition. We are going to give our best to compete and reach the final.”
