Bernadette Connolly: Daughter Jade trying to 'stay strong' six weeks after mum's disappearance

Missing Dubliner Bernadette Connolly's daughter Jade has said she is "taking it day by day" six weeks on from her mam's disappearance.

Bernadette went missing on Friday, January 7 and was last spotted on Donabate Beach by CCTV footage in Malahide at 12:46 pm that day.

Her jacket, bag and phone were found lying on the sand at the Malahide end of the beach.

A hot pink towel was also found near Bernadette's belongings but gardai cannot confirm if this belonged to the missing Dubliner.

Since her mother's disappearance, Jade Connolly has led an online campaign to appeal for new information.

She updated her followers today, saying is continuing to "keep her head high" for her mam.

She said: "Hi guys, thanks for all of the lovely messages and checking in to see how I am.

"I am doing OK. The first few weeks of this were very intense (still is) but I needed to take some time to myself and be with my grandparents.

"We are all taking it day by day and doing all we can.

"A lovely man told me before 'Jade, at some time in life we all have a cross to bear' and this is mine.

"I continue to keep my head high and stay strong for her. We miss her so much."

Bernadette got a taxi from Swords to Donabate that morning and was picked up on CCTV on the Shoreline Hotel's cameras.

She walked down to the very end of the beach and a photo was taken on her phone at 12:38pm with the Malahide Grand Hotel in view.

CCTV footage from a house near the public toilets on Malahide beach shows Bernadette in the distance on Donabate Beach at 12:46pm

A man walking on the beach found Bernadette's bag and coat up high in the dunes back up the beach at 2:50pm.

When last seen Bernadette was wearing a black Nike training top, black Nike leggings, black trainers with a white sole, and a black woolly hat.

Anyone who may have seen someone fitting Bernadette's description is asked to contact Swords garda station 01 666 4700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
